REQUESTS for more photos,

here are some visuals from Babson college ( in Wellesly Mass) which is where the summer conference for peace is being held.
the first is probably the original hall, picturesque, the one on its side( I'll flip it sometime) is the pretty crosswalk design they have put across the roads the other is a giant globe that was built in the 50s & I guess at one time is rotated, it casts a really bright shadow & reflection in the sun, it is in front of map hall ( oiy my brain) and there is supposed to be a giant relief map inside but I couldnt get in.

My final view of Camden

I made Cat take me to the famous archway before I left for the day.

Here is her lovely 'little' house on the hill, honey is already in the car ( in the garage) ready to drive me to the intersection to get me to I95. wish I had a shot of that, the backs of their heads in the car...aww sweet

there might be a better shot, I'll search later....promise

Lovely shampagne day

cat said her mom used to call days that were sparkly & clear, champagne days, this was sunday & it was all about the drive.
made it-- no problem, I registered & signed in at the conference, ate din din & went to the depressing dorm room. was not ready for that!, reminded me a little of the first day I arrived at my dorm in Philli, SHoulda brought my areobed!! darn!!
so after I got over myself & listened to Harry Potter, I slept & first class was an exercise/meditation class called Do-In, tomorrow will try QuiGong.

So today is a damp , raining buckets day, and my rain poncho has no arms!! ackk!!
anyway, first class was about our immune system , some good infor & I'll share it if you want , this afternoon class is insulin & inflamation. Its really hard to make a choice each session has like 4 possibilities. so I am trying to mix it up thru the week with yoga & macro cooking classes & informational ones. I need a clone.
Food is good, which is amazing with ALL these people.

The morning lecture was REALLY cool, it was this : Masaru Emoto: Messages from Water
a website with info http://www.life-enthusiast.com/twilight/research_emoto.htm

basic message is we are water & water is effected by vibrations
you can change anything by delivering harmony
Cool COol
okay gotta go brave the buckets o water

last night in maine

so after inquiring about THE COCKATOO, we found out that they recently moved, no longer on the east side of this island along side the fish shack, but on the west side, and it turns out someone bought this lodge and loved her food & decided she had to move in & open a restaurant...she agreed & thus is born new joint. Down a reverse left turn (think heading toward 12 oclock, the road was at 7oclock.) then it turns into a dirt road & ends at a little cove- sounds so charming. Portuguese island seafood, mmmm

rough around the edges:
An unsolicited review, and not refective of the evening, we still had fun & Cat said good.
turns out, this was day 4 of this opening & they had trouble finding experienced waitstaff, green as can be, not fine dining which we can take, no prob.
and the CHEF (what is her name) actually hired someone who her brother found in a bookstore in MASS, ( we heard this through a co/diner who were lawyers from Wilm DE ...imagine that) so she this super duper special chef wasn't even cooking and it was day 4ish, and no soft opening , just balls out -do it - stuff. I had higher expectations, based on the reviews of the eastern island joint. but understand the issues of first run restaurant stuff. we ordered paella & I thought it was classic to have the seafood mixed in with yummy rice, (again according to our co diner mates, the way she serves paella is the classic way in spain, in the shell seafood, hmmm) yes it was better than the only other place in town called fishermans friend, which visually had the same effect as the lozenge.

here is a story about the place on the other side of the island, I'm sure it'll be up to par soon

ANd this is my last day in maine, drive to boston this afternoon, I have to try to get to sleep real soon

It is perfectly overcast an cool, like 68 & dropping. we are on pink street and have flowers galore little orange daiseys & magenta daiseys & red & purple fuschia, perfecto. this town is what Lewes wishes it was. meeeeeow.

I think we are going to try to hit this Portuguese seafood joint here for Cats Bday dinner, it looks YUMMY, frankly we are a little tired of the standard fresh scallops & fresh lobster Ho hum.....
here is a news story on it that reads like a novel!! heee... the chef is apparently a freind of the late JULIA child. and julie only hangs with the best.
a quote from that story

The other person who offered encouragement was her friend Julia Child. The legendary chef and cookbook writer, who died in 2004, was a summer resident on Deer Isle and patronized Carter Seafood, Bradley's family business. She would sometimes talk to Suzen about cooking.

"I told her someday I'd do what I am doing now," said Suzen Carter. "She asked me what my fears were. I told her that I was afraid I couldn't feed large groups of people. You can, she said. If you can feed one, you can feed a hundred - one at a time."

great old little town called CASTINE

Lots of historical markers, Built by french in 1600s & rebuilt by british in 1779, & promptly overtaken by dutch, french, back to the british & then the french & on & on. it was slippery hard to hold on to I guess. but it was very quaint & lovely. they opened a golf course around 1898, and the Maine MAritime Academy is there. the houses are going for upwards of 700,000 YIKES,
and for some reason this is the only shot I have of the town.

AND at the south west point of the island there is a cute little lighthouse up on a ROCK, so no melting into the sea to very soon... It is called Dyce Head lighthouse. the home attached is private, so you are just permitted to skirt the grounds & look at the bay, here is a pic
