great old little town called CASTINE

Lots of historical markers, Built by french in 1600s & rebuilt by british in 1779, & promptly overtaken by dutch, french, back to the british & then the french & on & on. it was slippery hard to hold on to I guess. but it was very quaint & lovely. they opened a golf course around 1898, and the Maine MAritime Academy is there. the houses are going for upwards of 700,000 YIKES,
and for some reason this is the only shot I have of the town.


AND at the south west point of the island there is a cute little lighthouse up on a ROCK, so no melting into the sea to very soon... It is called Dyce Head lighthouse. the home attached is private, so you are just permitted to skirt the grounds & look at the bay, here is a pic
